Partners from ANFACO show their pilot protein extraction from upwelling green algae

Step 1. System for the collection of green seaweeds developed by the Fisherman Association of Poio (Pontevedra, Spain).

Step 2. Cleaning of the green seaweeds using a system developed in the project.

Step 3. Enzymatic hydrolysis of green seaweeds, at pilot scale

Step 4. Discharge of the hydrolysed mixture and sieving of the remaining solids.

Step 5. Ultrafiltration of the extraction liquid (on the right is the feed and the permeate is on the left).

Step 6. Nanofiltration of the permeate generated in the ultrafiltration step (on the right is the feed and the permeate is on the left).

Step 7. Vacuum evaporation of the concentrated extract.
