Biozoon: Presentation and role in the project

Biozoon Food Innovations GmbH (BZN) was established in 2001 and currently employs 25 persons. We are a specialist company in the field of powder products for food application.  With the necessary market knowledge and technological skills, we develop, manufacture and market high-value, top-quality products both for private and commercial customers. The business concept is based on three pillars:

• Development, production and sales of own products
• Development and protection of food processes and products, protecting them by means of IPR and licensing
• Contract product development and manufacturing

Both product development and production take place in Bremerhaven. We see ourselves as a service provider who can respond quickly and unbureaucratically to the wishes of our customers. We produce all our products ourselves using modern fluidized bed agglomeration and mixing technology. Compliance to highest quality standards during product development and production is a matter of course. This is guaranteed through our comprehensive Quality Management System according to DIN ISO 9001:2015.

As part of our continuous innovation process seeking for new products and problem solutions serving niche markets we have a well-equipped technical laboratory with comprises, among others the following equipment:

• GLATT fluidized bed granulator and dryer for product development (capacity 0.75 l/h, samples up to 300g). Suitable also for coating.  
• GLATT fluidized bed granulator and dryer for product development and small-scale sample production (capacity 2.5 l/h, samples up to 1kg). Suitable also for coating and production of final products and small series  
• GLATT laboratory fluidized bed granulator and dryer for product development and small-scale sample production (capacity 120 l/h, samples up to 50kg). suitable also for coating

• Paddle-mixer with max batch size from 10 to 120 kg
• CHRIST – laboratory freeze dyer (capacity 0.25 kg/h water evaporation)
• Manual filling station for doy packs and cans
• Automatic filling line for cans and buckets
